Youth Programming District Youth Programming Overview Young Religious Unitarian Universalists (YRUU) is the youth movement within the Unitarian Universalist Association. Any youth who participate in their own congregation or in NED youth activities are considered to belong to YRUU. In the NED, Youth Programming is the responsibility of the NED Youth Adult Committee (YAC), under the NED Religious Education Committee. YAC meetings are open, except for the Retreat, which is by invitation due to space and the intense nature of the discussions. Youth Adult Committee (YAC) is elected at the Spring Youth Conference for one-year terms, to represent five geographical areas of the NED, and to allow congregations with larger youth groups to have additional representatives. District Representative to Youth Council is elected at the Spring Conference for a two-year term. Youth between grades 9-11 (starting in the fall) are eligible. The Youth Council Representative:
Youth Social Action Contact is elected yearly at the Spring Youth Conference. This person is in contact with the Youth Office around social action issues, and connection should be made with the NED Social Action Committee. Social Action is part of the Fall and Spring NED Youth Conferences. List of resources for Youth Ministry, compiled by Bennette Sherman from various sources 4-08.
