Unitarian Universalist Service Committee With more than 25,000 members and supporters, the UUSC is a powerful voice for human rights in the United States and internationally. Founded in 1939, UUSC has confronted oppression in more than 50 countries on four continents. Today, UUSC focuses its work in the United States , Latin American, the Caribbean , Central Africa , and South and Southeast Asia . Its programs empower women, support the struggles of oppressed and racial, ethnic and indigenous, and defend the rights of children. Firmly grounded in Unitarian Universalist principles and values, the UUSC affirms the worth, dignity, and human rights of all people and gives voice to the voiceless in this world.
The Service Committee does not receive funds from the UUA and does not accept U.S. government funding.
