Denominational Affairs Charged with informing member congregations about the policies, programs, and goals of the NED and the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations, Denominational Affairs is responsible for soliciting District congregations for financial support for the Annual Program Fund (APF) of the UUA and for the NED. Contributions to the APF from member congregations fund Association programs, services, and resources that directly benefit and strengthen the congregations themselves and Unitarian Universalism as a whole. Approximately 37 percent of the UUA operating budget is funded through the APF. THe UUA sends information to each church about their fair share of the APF, and the churches send their contributions directly to the UUA. Northeast District contributions from member congregations supplement
the APF funds to support the programs and resources provided to churches
located in the state of Maine. The NED District office sends forms each
fall to the president and treasurer of each church with the information
they will need to pay their fair share for NED contributions. These funds
are sent to the NED office. Periodically during the year, each treasurer
will receive an update on their balance.
